Fashion Design

Fashion as a field of study provides a multifaceted approach to learning about both design and marketing and management. Coursework prepares students for success by drawing on their creativity and individuality as they study the elements of design, figure analysis, color theory, garment construction, textiles, and numerous hand sewing techniques as well as marketing and manufacturing both nationally and internationally. Not only do students continually work to build a fashion portfolio, they also design and showcase their garments in yearly fashion shows. In the senior year, students develop ten different looks to parade in a separate celebratory showcase prior to graduation. Graduates earn an industry recognized NOCTI certification and can continue their education or work in the fashion industry.
